Residential Education: Contributing to the academic success of all students

The philosophy of Pueblo Pintado Community School is to empower students to become analytical, critical thinkers and leaders of tomorrow. Our safe and holistic residential learning environment teaches students valuable and necessary life skills that foster future success. Residential program staff develops large monthly activity calendars to show what is coming up for the children.

Pueblo Pintado Community Residential School is a five-day operation, opening on Sundays at 4 p.m. and closing on Friday mornings at 9 a.m. The home living students may be checked out during the school week with written and signed permissions from the legal parent/guardian in accordance with the BIE student check-out procedures. Pueblo Pintado’s residential and home living students’ lives will include weekly lesson plans on the following four components:

  • Dine culture/language
  • Recreation
  • Health/safety (Wellness)
  • Study hours/tutoring

Serving kindergarten through eighth-grade, we cultivate an environment that equips students with the skills and knowledge needed for academic and professional achievement. Our holistic approach to student curriculum ensures that each child develops mentally, physically, socially and emotionally, ready to face every challenge and accept every opportunity.

Pueblo Pintado Community School ensures that students recognize that the global communities of the 21st century must care for, respect, and share the resources of Mother Earth. Our vision is to create a family school so our community of learners can prepare themselves for the jobs of the future and solve problems in adaptable ways through various talents:

  • Understanding computers, technology
  • Working with global communities
  • Communicating with other cultures
  • Acquiring new life skills and attitudes
  • Solving problems through various talents

Pueblo Pintado Community School strives to meet or exceed academic proficiency in language arts, mathematics and science. Our educational program is dedicated to serving the unique needs and priorities of our Navajo students and community.
