The Pueblo Pintado Community School, local clinic and nearest hospital if available, collaborates with staff members, parents/guardians, and students to promote a safe and healthy environment.

Student Illness Procedures

Students are to remain home if they are ill. If a student becomes ill and cannot remain in class, the teacher sends the student to the front office. The administrator contacts the student's parent/guardian to pick up the student at the school.

Dispensing Medication (prescription and over the counter)

Pueblo Pintado Community School administers medications in accordance with the BIE’s Medication Administration Policy (See BIE Medication Administration Policy). All medication must be picked up by parent/guardian at the end of the school year.

Medical Emergency

In the event of a medical emergency, Pueblo Pintado Community School will call an ambulance if unable to transport the student immediately to the local health facility/hospital. Pueblo Pintado Community School notifies the parent/guardian as soon as possible, and staff remains with the student until the parent/guardian arrives.
